I am Dreamwidth user #466; my account was created on March 9th 2009 at 14:33:09 and I was gifted a seed account two years ago today by [personal profile] synecdochic for my work during closed beta. Now, Dreamwidth is out of beta altogether, and though I haven't done very much in recent months, I feel an immense sense of pride at having been involved, and of everyone else who's been on this journey.

And I don't just mean the coders, the designers, the docs people, the support team, the antispam folk... not just the people who've tweaked and fiddled and sat up at all hours making the site work. Of course they're important, but Dreamwidth wouldn't be Dreamwidth without you guys, the people who write entries and post comments, it wouldn't be Dreamwidth without the community. So thank you :)

I am Dreamwidth user #135, and I totally agree with everything you've said here. I was gifted my seed account much more recently, yet it doesn't change a thing. DW needs subscribers of course to keep the servers on, but without people wanting to use those servers why would it matter? All we are without the userbase is a big pile of code.

Beta is over? Woot! Yes, thank you to everybody, *especially* those early ones such as yourself :-)

I'm perhaps unusual on here, in that I was never a LJ user. I used to use blogger.com, and at the time that I decided to move to something with privacy controls, some people said "take a look at Dreamwidth", and I did, and... yeah :-)
