Has 2014 been a good year for you?
The first six months were a bit terrible; the second six months were up and down and all over tthe place. I'm glad the year is over, but I'm also glad that I experienced it.

What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before?
I watched roller derby (on TV). I cosplayed (Delirium, from The Sandman, for a "favourite fictional character" themed party. I went Extreme Geocaching ("requires a boat", attempted without a boat - and failed, but made a plan for trying again - still without a boat!) - oh, and I climbed scaffolding.

What goals do you have for 2015?
To find a way to see the Northern Lights.

How did you spend Christmas?
With my mum, brother, dad, and step-uncle - eating food, knitting, and playing Cards Against Humanity.

How will you spend New Year?
Dancing at a goff night in a church.

How much travelling did you do this year?
I went to Seattle, Portland and Vancouver BC in October; that was all, but all in the space of a week. It was AWESOME.

What would you like to have in 2015, that you lacked this year.
Stability in my relationships (both friendships and romantic). A couple of friendships this year became romantic when they probably shouldn't have; I want to not make that mistake again.

What events from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The week spent in Seattle (and day trips to Portland and Vancouver) - especially going up Columbia Tower, and seeing the world from 73 storeys in the air, and visiting Pike Place Market. It was magical.

What was your biggest achievement of the year? What was your biggest learning experience?
To trust my judgments and instincts, about people and my own needs, more.

Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had some mental health stuff pop back up again, and there was that time I tore my toenail on a doorframe; other than that, that was all.

What was the best thing you acquired?
Epic amounts of delicious coffee from the US.

Where did most of your money go?
Travel - both train and plane.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?

What songs will always remind you of 2014?
Frank Turner - The Way I Tend To Be

Did you acquire any new hobbies?
No, but I've kept up knitting throughout the year, having rediscovered it late last year - which is a happy thing!

What do you wish you'd done more of in 2014?
Writing (especially here, but generally). Cycling. Seeing live music.

What do you wish you'd done less of in 2014?

Did you fall in love this year?
Yes, several times.

What music did you listen to most in 2014?
Frank Turner, VNV Nation, Covenant, Ingrid Michaelson, The Levellers, Belle & Sebastian.

What TV did you watch in 2014?
Arrested Development, Gossip Girl *shame* :P, House (rediscovered, having gotten bored of it at the beginning of S8 last time - I've now watched it all, OMG.), Castle.

What was your favourite movie of 2014?
Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I

What books did you enjoy most in 2014?
Girl on the Net

What was your best culinary experience of 2014?
SEATTLE. All of it.

What political issue stirred you the most?
I've tried to stay away from politics as much as I could this year, after last year's fun with Thorpe Park…

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 27, and I went climbing and wound down post-BiCon, generally doing very little.

Who was the best new person you met?
One who would be extremely embarrassed if I named him; he probably knows who he is from that description, so that will suffice!

Who did you miss the most?
Many people.

What did you want and get in 2014?
More time with friends.
More climbing.

What did you want and not get in 2014?
More disposable income.
More live music.
More cycling.

What are your wishes for next year?
To kick arse on my placement in Finland.
To see the Northern Lights.
To enjoy my last year of my degree, but also see more of my friends.
